Soul Retrieval

Soul Retrieval by Jeanette Amlie
I have been involved in many forms of shamanic teachings and practices & numerous times I have undertaken the process of "Soul Retrieval". The experiences where always quite dramatic, often saving my soul from a time of extreme persecution in order for me to be complete in this lifetime. The only problem was that my life did not then exhibit signs of being more complete. In fact I became even more preoccupied with "fixing" all the other things that were wrong with me "now" that were the result of what happened "back then".

So what if retrieving our conscious awareness from all parts of the distant galaxies & all realms of the past and present is the greatest feat of all?  What if living life as it unfolds is the greatest act of self-liberation possible? And what if it does not require a shaman to bring this eternal presence into the present tense, into the present moment, into the present circumstances. It simply requires your willingness to notice what you are experiencing right now.

It is possible that for some people, all the attempts to rectify our karmic misdeeds of the past & to attract that which we truly desire in the future simply serve to draw us farther and farther away from the true presence of ourselves which has always been right here all along. It is actually very easy to spend this entire lifetime exploring other lifetimes and other worlds. But what is the use then in being given this life to live? Is not the greatest disservice to the gift of this incarnation to bleed it away in another time and place?

This is not dismissing the probability that many of us have lived many lives & experienced many amazing things. Yet it is also possible that all we have ever been & ever experienced is incorporated into this very life, this very experience, this very moment. So to attend to the present moment with the full awareness that it contains all other moments we have ever experienced begins to access a greater freedom than can be gained in any other way.

Sometimes after traveling the universe in search for answers to why we are in so much pain & suffering, searching for the happiness that has eluded us so, we become exhausted enough to stop the search for even a few moments. This is our opportunity to explore the life we are living right now and to see that the proverbial treasure we have been seeking has been here waiting for us all along.

Breathe your Soul Home

Picture
Try this little exercise to facilitate bringing your conscious awareness home into this lifetime & into this divine moment.....

Try taking a moment to NOT analyze, solve or plan anything. Begin by closing your eyes and simply beginning to notice your body. Now notice your breathing without trying to change it in any way. The quality of your breath is an ever present clue to the state of your mind & body. As you simply notice it it will often deepen & become more natural & full. Notice how your body responds to this calm attention.

Now take just one moment to simply witness your current state of awareness. Ask yourself in a curious sort of way "What is here beyond any circumstances?" What is present that has always been present & has never been lost or broken?" The mind may scurry about looking for something to "do", but just return to this presence. Then rest in this deep presence for a little while. Open your eyes & see that this presence is still here in the world around you.

Try doing this for short periods a few times throughout the day to begin to integrate it into your daily life.
