Manifesting Samsara & Samadhi

Lotus by Jeanette Amlie
Samsara & the Law of Attraction
Thoughts, emotions, words & actions do indeed manifest the world we live in. But this world is an ever changing illusion of samsara, rather than the pure conscious awareness of our true nature. And the birth, life, death & rebirth cycles of samsara are fueled by our desires, aversions and experiences in this 3D reality. So when we focus our attention on manifesting what we want to exist in the physical & emotional world, we are relying only on what our conditioned mind is capable of perceiving.
Therefore, it would seem that the first & most important step to true manifestation would be freeing ourselves of the desires & aversions of the conditioned mind. Yet myriad teachings point us to the knowledge that the truth of ourselves as pure awareness is always here. It is not something that we must seek or grasp or understand. If fact, it is not "understandable", so all efforts to do so actually take us further away from this truth, if that is even possible.
Samadhi & Spiritual Awakening
In many eastern spiritual traditions it is taught that samadhi is a state of consciousness that can be achieved in complete meditation. And with prolonged meditative retreats I have indeed experienced this blissful state. Yet, once again, for almost all people this too is impermanent & often spurns the desire to sustain this heightened state to the detriment of the actual life & reality one is living in. So often times this spiritual pursuit of a transcended state of pure consciousness is in itself a distraction from what has been here and unchanging all along.
Yet within all of this seeking to understand how to manifest a perfect life we may be missing the actual life itself. It is not unusual that seekers must exhaust all avenues to enlightenment before they are willing to give up in utter surrender and despondency. Although this can be a time of deep suffering, the gift in it can be the shattering of the search itself. When we realize there is nowhere else to turn, no more schemes to try to fix our life & manifest this ideal of enlightened happiness, then it is possible to glimpse what has been here all along. And in that moment we know something beyond our capacity to understand.
Is it possible to cut to the chase and bypass all of the searching and struggling and cycles of perceived success and failure? Ironically the search itself often serves to ripen us to the state of readiness required to surrender our very identity itself. And in this willingness to give up all that we have been taught to believe about ourselves and the world, including the erroneous power of beliefs themselves, comes the chance to experience this current reality without the urge to judge it or change it for better or worse.
Witnessing this Moment
So seek if you must, but also allow yourself copious amounts of time to simply investigate this very moment, this very reality and see what is here anyway. Yes you might find fear and pain in this moment, but don't run from them. Witness them as a curious child would & see the gifts of liberation they offer when we stop fighting & struggling to change them. You might be surprised what peace and calm you find there.
Then open your eyes & allow this peace to actually infiltrate the world & the life you are swimming in. Don't wait for a state of perfect enlightenment to transform your reality. Stand up and step out into this world with the same curiosity of the child who is awed by the tiniest wonders they encounter. Consciously ask yourself to experience the moments of reality in your job, your relationships, your recreation. Don't let the conditioned mind separate this life & this reality into samsara and samadhi. In this moment there is no separation between doing your taxes (ouch! yes I used that example for a reason!) and blissful happiness. So notice what is here & allow that to be your guru. Allow this to shudder you to the bones as you realize how utterly simple it can be.......
